Another report from Hooked on Panama Lodge.
The fishing continues to be great. Last week we had Greg Lien, who bought the trip at the Minnesota chapter of Safari Club and brought his friends, John, Brian and Jereme. They were fishing with Captain Carlos and his mate Eloy.
It’s still a Dorado fest. Got 30 plus and once again nice size fish. Several Sails and on the last day, Yellow Fin Tuna with some of them in the 50lb. range. Saw some Marlin action, but no real hook ups.
I can never say enough how good Chef Margot’s seared tuna appetizer is. It is pretty much voted, hands down, the best appetizer she puts out. We have also been doing fish tacos quite a bit lately with our homemade Pico De Gallo sauce. Yum.
These guys were a riot, but we will probably have to add an alcohol surcharge on them when they comeback:) Also came up with a new cocktail, The Mambo. Be sure and ask Ricardo the bartender for one while you are here. There is also a photo below of some kind of meeting of the minds between the group and Captain Carlos in the kitchen. Must have been a short meeting:):)
Got a big group coming in Sunday and the whole fleet will be out again, so another report next week.
Until next time,
