Fishing Report for February 13th

More Texans here at the lodge J Chic, Tina, Jimmy, Katherine, Larry and Jean friends of Rex and Connie fished for 3 day during their week here with us. While they here we got to celebrate Chic’s 70th birthday! They fished with Captain Victor and Mate Jacinto on the Chiricana releasing 4 sailfish, 3 dorado, 1 snapper, 1 Y-fin tuna, 1 wahoo, 1 pacific jack crevalle and raising 9 sailfish, 9 dorado, 1 snapper, 2 marlin and 1 wahoo. The fresh sashimi and wahoo were killer.

There was a smorgasbord of fish caught. They had too many yellow fin tunas to count no monsters but a good 70 to 80 lb. average with some mahi mahi, pargos, sailfish, mullet snappers and groupers mixed in We also had good action on the rooster fish around 20 with about 15 averaging 30lbs.

We had Bob Linder from Texas and his group of 8 fishing buddies fishing with us for three days. This was Bob and Fred’s second season fishing with us.

Doug Huseman and his three sons from Tennessee were also here at the lodge fishing the same period as the Harden / Rose group from our last report. Doug was really hoping to get in on some good marlin fishing with his sons on this trip, since this was their first time marlin fishing.

Greetings from Hooked on Panama Lodge! We had brothers Richard and Edward Bagnall back from the UK for their second trip to the lodge, they fished 6 days with Victor and Jacinto and caught a smorgasbord of fish!

This report is covering several groups in the last 10 days all fishing 3 days. All had mixed bags of species. First groups John Vance and friends brought in a huge Mahi, releasing Sails and 1 Black Marlin while Ian Smith with his son and two other friends also releasing Sails, Black Marlin a huge Rooster fish, Mahi and many small Ahi.

We still have Gary and Sheryl Meyer with us at the lodge. This week they are fishing with another couple, Bill and Kim Salow. And of course, Bad Betty Rewalt is still here with them. Over a couple of days they raised about 20 sails, releasing three. One of them was around 150lbs. They then came up on a floater, and the action was on
