Panama Fishing April, 2019

Greetings from Hooked on Panama Lodge…

This is our April report.  We had the Zintgraff group of 4.  Eugene and Karen Meyers with Jim and Elizabeth, Diving for a Cause with Colleen Gallagher, Terry Maas and 8 other blue water divers. The Ward party of 8 and Schulte group of 3.

The Marlin bite was a bit slow a good amount was raised but not many releases.   The Dorado and Yellow Fin Tuna made up for it and on the inshore so did the Roosters.  The Meyers knocked out their Rooster Bucket list with six releases.

Diving for a Cause ended up with 9 Yellow Fin Tuna and 12 Dorados.  The fish were there for them but the water visibility not so good.  Hard to shoot a Yellow Fin Tuna swimming at 50 m.p.h. when you can only see about 15ft.

The Yellow Fin Tuna were averaging 70lbs – 110lbs and many were caught on poppers.  We didn’t get a lot of photos but will post on FB as we receive them.

The Yellow Fin Tuna bite is going strong right now with the largest one estimated weight at 200lbs. Will be sending a new report next week!

Tight Lines!
