Greetings from Hooked on Panama Lodge!

We had David Chaykowski and friends Kelly, Bobby and Ian here for the week of May 14th for 3 days of fishing. They had a great time on the inshore variety: snappers, roosterfish and lost a 50lb wahoo at the boat. They said they could have done that all day!

Offshore quite a few dorado, with a few bruisers at 40-50 and 60lbs. On their last day they raised 6 blue marlin and released 4. Two of them were on a double hook-up and then they came back inshore for more roosters. Not bad for their first time saltwater fishing!

David is planning another trip in December for the sailfish and Kelly wants to come back with his wife for some R&R. I guess they have been Hooked on Panama!

We have a little down time between now and June 2nd when our next group shows up. Until then I’ll be trying to put some of the videos we have on our FB pages.

This report is covering several groups in the last 10 days all fishing 3 days. All had mixed bags of species. First groups John Vance and friends brought in a huge Mahi, releasing Sails and 1 Black Marlin while Ian Smith with his son and two other friends also releasing Sails, Black Marlin a huge Rooster fish, Mahi and many small Ahi.

Our last groups for the season were about two weeks ago before the hammer came down in Panama and everyone else had to cancel. Before this happened, fishing was good. Sails, Dorados, quite a few big Yellow Fin Tuna and great rooster fishing. Vanessa in one of the photos below got like a 90lb. rooster.

We have Jon Buckner here with his wife Regan and two boys, Josh and Brady. The boys were helping each other out and they say these roosters are the biggest fish they have landed to date.
