Fishing Report for March 6th

Hi Everyone,

Dan Here from Hooked on Panama Lodge. After last weeks kind of slow bite, things have turned back around:)

We have Roxanne from Texas with us and she just finished 2 1/2 days of fishing with Captain Oliver and mate Carlito. Connie Hudson, one of the partners here, fished with Roxanne for the first 2 days. On day 1, they raised 30 sails and released 5.  2 of them over a 100lbs.  Lost a big dorado at the boat:(

Day 2, raised 28 more sails releasing 4.

Day 3, Roxanne wanted her shot at a rooster.  Hit the point and as soon as the lines hit the water, bagged a nice Blue Trevally and right after, a nice rooster. This before 8 AM.  Ran a couple of miles out, released another sail then came back home.

So, released 10 out of 62 sails raised. 0 for 1 on the Dorado. 1 out of 3 on the roosters and 1 blue trevally.  Not bad at all for 2 1/2 days fishing:)

Roxanne says this is one of the best trips ever, and promises to bring back a group of her girl friends next year. Sorry about the quality of the photos below, but she had a water spot on the camera:)

We still have a couple of spots open here and there for the next few months, and the tunas should start showing up soon.  Got the report they are out there, but still quite a ways from the lodge.  But, as always, in 2 weeks to a month, they’ll be closer to us:)  Let the seared tuna begin!!!!

Have another group out fishing 2 boats today, so more to come.
