Ben, Jeff, Tom, Chuck and Blake from Montana fished with Captain Victor and Jacinto. During their stay the bite had slowed down a bit, but our new friends from Montana sure know how to have a good time as Jeff Krogstad captured their moments here at the lodge and on the water, thank you Jeff for sharing your photo’s. They released 4 sailfish, 5 snapper, 4 rooster fish and raised 20 sailfish, 10 dorado, 8 snapper, 4 rooster fish and 1 wahoo. The gates, weighing as much as 700 elephants each, opened slowly like the entrance to King Kong’s Village. I’d come with my crew to spend a week at the aptly named Hooked on Panama Lodge. A week of intense sport punctuated by guilt free napping, fresh homemade food, cold drinks and people as warm as the tropical sun to help enjoy it all.

We have Dan and Judy Hunsaker here with us right now from Tucson Arizona. They are doing a 6 day fishing experience. The first 2 days were a bit slow. Only one rooster per day. I kept telling Dan, not to worry, they are out there. After that, the bite turned on again. Big yellow fin tuna and large dorado to boot.

Panama Fishing January 14, 2020

Ron Wendt was down with us again. Brought his friend Bruce and two newbies Lee and Mike. Fishing still rocks. Marlin, Tuna, Dorados and Sails. It’s kind of strange about the tuna bite. We normally get a short run during January all around 40 to 50 pounders. This run, they are all beast!!! Average over 100 pounds, several over 200.
